The Skies Aren’t Very Friendly Anymore

We already had a flight booked from San Diego to Seattle on American Airlines, since we were on our way up there for a long weekend. I just got off the phone with the airline in a failed attempt to change our flight from Seattle to Portland. They wanted an extra $211 per ticket. I’m pretty sure it would cost less to just rent a car and drive down to Portland from Seattle (we don’t actually have to do that, but we could).

I think this will be my last non-business flight for a long, long time. Not when it costs most of a paycheck just to fly somewhere for a weekend.

Update (26 Mar 2008, 09:30): I just booked a rental car and a hotel room in Oregon. Total cost, $208.32. $2.68 less than one ticket reschedule from American Airlines.
